Why are you watching 1001 movies?

My name is Lindsey, I'm 27 years old, and I've always been competitive.  Raised in an athletic family, I've been running 5k's every month for charity since grade school.  But as an adult, I now have a nervous system disorder so I'm prone to seizures and am losing my ability to walk. My cognitive function (recalling words, remembering) is also declining. Some days are better than others.  Right now my neurologist has me on a combination of pills and injections, and I'm doing fairly well.  My dad also has a nervous system disorder and we support each other.  I only wish he lived closer.

I haven't done a 5k in years.  It's easy to get depressed about my situation, but one day, I found this list of 1001 movies. It's called The 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die.  So I decided to take it one step further and watch them all before I turn 30. I started this blog so I could share my thoughts on these films and find others who are interested in this journey. Like you!

Some days my cognitive function is worse than others; this is because I'm having a relapse. In this case, I still enjoy watching a film, however I usually write the review while I watch (so it's like a real-time review), or I'll post a short review detailing what I remember.

Thanks for reading. It is never my intention to have anyone feel sorry for me. Rather, I wanted you to know about my situation and of my blog, which is more than just a blog to me. It's my personal creative outlet and my mission to finish this list. I can't control many things, but I can control how I feel.  Sometimes I have a hard time stringing words together, but I do my best.

I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter named Azalea.  We enjoy watching films together, and even though she doesn't speak, she certainly lets me now which movies she likes and which ones she doesn't. Oftentimes I let her choose the movies to review.

On icheckmovies.com and reddit.com, my name is Starfoxie if you wanna say "hi".
